What is Bakugan? Should Parents Be Concerned
There is a new Japanese Anime game called Bakugan that kids are going crazy for. The story is about the lives of the Bakugan and the battle brawlers who wield them. The TV show was shown in Japan and ran for 51 episodes before coming to the U.S. and showing on Cartoon Network beginning in February 2008. Sega has created a game from the series called Bakugan that has metal trading cards and spring loaded action figures. When your kids ask about playing Bakugan you can be certain that they are asking for a very popular game, one that allows them to interact with each other without electronics that are pervasive today.
The first step in getting started with Bakugan is the purchase of a Bakugan starter pack. This contains a pack of metal trading cards and a spring loaded action figure. Specifically you will get 6 Bakugan, 8 magnetic Gate cards and a set of instructions. The best deal is to get the starter pack since buying each Bakugan individually would cost a lot more.
Over time your kid will decide what color they will like the best. The starter pack includes Bakugan that are represented by attribute by their various colors. Sub-Terra is brown and represents the Earth. Pyrus represents fire and is red. Aquos is blue and represents water, Ventus is green and represents air. Haos is white and represents light and last but not least, Darkus is black and represents the darkness.
As your child continues to play they will eventually choose a favorite color which will result in discovering what their favorite Bakugan is. You will notice which color that your child is more likely to play with. That will allow you be more selective in future purchases of a Bakugan battle pack.
Bakugan is a fantastic game for your kids to get involved with. The kids will utilize skills involving math and strategy. Bakugan is a game that parents should actually encourage their kids to play, which will keep them away from sitting in front of the TV playing video games all day.
How to adjust a spring loaded tensioner arm?
I am trying to replace the serpentine belt on my 1994 Chevy S-10 4X4 pickup. I had to replace the tensioner because the prior tensioner froze up. I have tried to put the tensioner in place, but the belt will not go all the way, it's way too tight. How would I fix this problem? How would I adjust the arm on the spring loaded tensioner so there won't be so much pressure on the other pulleys? Is there a special tool I need?
On the back of the tensioner is a "tab" that goes in a hole where you bolt it on. When putting the belt on make sure you have it routed right. On some tensioners there is a 3/8 or 1/2 drive square to but a breaker bar or ratchet in. if it doesn't have that then just use a wrench that fits the bolt on the pulley and move the tensioner to put the belt on. sometimes it's easier to put the belt on the tensioner and leave something like the alternator pulley for last
When toys attack: 5 dangerous toy recalls (local6)
With the rare exception you can rest assured the toys you buy for your kids
today are safe, but that hasn't always been the case. Safety standards were
much lower a decade or two ago and almost nonexistent before then. Today
recalls because of cadmium or toxic lead capture the headlines, but dangerous
toys are nothing new. Take the Gilbert U-238 Atomic Energy Lab for instance.
What sounds like a top-secret military project was in reality a short-lived
toy from the early 1950s -- and an expensive toy at that ($50 at the time, or
more than $300 in today's dollars). The toy was the most elaborate atomic
energy educational set ever produced, containing actual uranium ore. Say what
you will about current safety standards, but you can be pretty sure not many
of today's toys are radioactive. But thanks to its time, that toy never faced
recall. These five dangerous toys weren't quite as fortunate ... No. 5: Aqua
Dots One of the hottest toys in the months before Christmas in 2007, Aqua Dots
would prove to also be one of the most dangerous. The toy consisted of small,
colorful beads that could ...
